Description
The collection includes ten works by A. S. Pushkin – the poem “Ruslan and Lyudmila” with a foreword by the literary historian M. G. Halansky, the poem “Song of the prophetic Oleg” and eight poetic fairy tales, including “The Tale of the priest and his worker Balda”. At the end of the collection is also this tale, revised in 1840 for censorship reasons, with illustrations from the magazine “Jester”. The texts of all the fairy tales are decorated with magnificent drawings by eight artists, including such masters of book illustration as Bilibin, Zvorykin and Vasnetsov.
